I have noticed of recent the upload speed has degraded seriously. I am concerned Icedrive is onboarding new users without an incremental level of new servers across the Globe.
We need Icedrive to fully disclose how many new users, servers, etc. you have added in the last 6 months to ensure the community you are keeping pace with growth. Also, what is the average upload bandwidth. Server growth and servers offline, etc.
I have 1GB upload\download internet provided speed and I am getting about ~12-15 Mbps, if that much. Occasionally, there is a spike for a few seconds at 17-20 Mbps. What has occurred resulting in such significant slow downs??? I use to get 40-45Mbps - that is over 60% degradation.
I have over 99+ files awaiting upload, mainly due to month-end backups. However, I have never had that many queued ever as the prior speed could push through many of them in the middle of the night in the US (right now 3am Est Sunday which is 11am-12noon your local time Sunday). There should be no peak traffic in Europe on a Sunday???
Right now, it is estimating it will take 103 hours. That is over 4 days if I do not turn off the PC, which I will need to do during that period. By that time, I will have another series of backup files adding on. And if the current files are not uploaded timely, I will have overwrites in the middle of the week for some of those files which were supposed to be uploaded this Sunday.
Overall, something has changed. Please disclose with actual stats and data for us paying users to understand the current state and your immediate plans to address the slow speed so we can timely upload our files. Thanks
Is anyone from Icedrive monitoring this Community board and responding?
What are others experiencing? It took 4 days to upload the 99+ (112 actual) and today I have 32 more to update. The speeds are ridiculously low at 12-15 Mbps.
Apologies in the delayed response, have you submitted a support ticket regarding this issue? There can be varying factors that can cause these network issues, so we will need to investigate it further. Its important to note that as our user base grows, we continuously expand our infrastructure by adding new servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Hi Tom, I did shortly after I submitted the above with no response. I exchanged a few emails with the staff. The problem cleared itself up after 7-8 days post month-end. It took 3+ 24 hour days to finish the upload. Speeds post month-end were horrible, but post the initial upload 1.5 week later I started seeing 30-40 Mbps. Personally, 30-40 Mbps is slow to me as I would like to see 100-200 Mbps, but much 30 Mbps is much better than 5 -10 Mbps.
The same thing happened again around Feb month-end, but not as bad as the Jan month-end which was the worst ever since subscribing to the product.
I am confident it is not on my side as I conducted speed tests using 3 different sites and it all indicated speeds above 900 Mbps. I also uploaded content to another site which reported high Mbps. I have a 1GB internet connection and all tests it showed close or over 900 Mbps. See paste below of today’s speed.
I recognize as you grow you are having to constantly review your server capacity based on where they are located. I am on the East Coast - North Carolina, USA so that might be a starting point to figure out which servers are serving my area. If it happens again this month-end, I will open a ticket so you can confirm what I am experiencing.
