I understand Icedrive want/need to expand their userbase. But can we dial back the advertisement for public links? I send files to clients to download and the first thing they see is a giant advertisement blocking their view. It’s somewhat awkward considering I pay for the service.

Perhaps it can be an ad strip across the top? Alternatively I would be happy to pay extra for a white label version that doesn’t include the Ads.

We can certainly appreciate your frustration with our advertisements on public links. We don’t run them often however as you’ve eluded to above it does serve to expand our userbase which assists us in being able to improve our services. We don’t have a white label version available however that is an interesting suggestion so I will forward onto our development team for consideration in the future. Apologies for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.

“We don’t spit in your face very often” is not an acceptably professional answer for any professionals paying for service here. Photoshop overlaying a QR code for their ‘active sale’ on any images you happen to be exporting “because it helps expand their userbase” sound okay? Yes? No.

This is a big pass on your company, for life.

Hi IceDrive,

I just want to start with saying this service is amazing, keep up the good work. Love the new app, and the overall reliability. But this needs to be fixed.

I share files with less tech savvy clients, and they consistently think I have accedentally sent them an ad or the wrong link. The ad is so large that they don’t even notice the shared file in the background. It makes me look unproffesional sending files from icedrive, and I have had to switch to google drive every time I need to send a file.

To address the point of advertising to expand your customer base this is really dumb. I am sharing them a file, and if you want to expand your service you should make the experience great so they are interested in how I share files and I can recommend Icedrive. Them having to see a giant ad convinces me to never even recommend Icedrive, and the person I share the files with just sees this as an ad filled service I had to put up with using for some reason. A lifetime offer for cloud storage when you are just looking to download a coleagues files means nothing, a recommendation for lifetime cloud storage does.

Please change this, it has been one of the major pain points of an otherwise great service.
