Very slow upload speed

very slow upload speed

Even on a very fast internet connextion (500 Mbps) I can’t seem to get more than a 500 kBps upload speed. Is this normal?
I notice that a lot of people have mentioned this; is it being looked into? I have the same issue whether I use the web app or the linux app (via appimage)

I have an open ticket with Support asking they add additional servers as it is clear they do not have the capacity to offer even 40-80 Mbps. I have a 1GB Mpbs internet connection and speed test confirms I am getting that connection for both upload and download.

I currently get 6-8 Mbps and a occasional 10-18 Mbps. I have over 250 files from backups which are 3 days old and each day more backup files are being created. It has become clear Icedrive is not meeting customer demand and needs.

I suggest everyone open tickets to raise their concern and post their comments here. We need an overwhelming community response asking Icedrive to meet capacity beyond the horrific speeds which are throttled today. And stop offering free services to those who will never pay but using their capacity which diminishes capacity for paid users.

Not sure I agree with that last part - I wouldn’t be a client today if I hadn’t had the free plan for awhile.
But it does seem that those who should pay should get higher priority.

I totally agree.

Correct, offering a lost leader promotion for 1-3 month is reasonable but 10GB x 100,000+ users takes up bandwidth. If Icedrive does not have a capacity throttle problem then it would be a non-issue.

I am running 5 Mpbs right now.

Honestly, this has been my biggest headache with Icedrive for years.

I’ve had persistent issues with super slow speeds and file download failures, even though my internet is blazing fast. Every time I raised a ticket, they just threw the “it’s a problem with your connection” excuse and closed it—no fixes, no follow-ups, just silence.

Now seeing others hit 500 kbps or 6–10 Mbps max uploads despite having gigabit connections… it’s clear this isn’t just some edge-case glitch. It’s a capacity issue they’ve been brushing under the rug for too long. Add the WebDAV outage, lack of communication, and the radio silence on status updates, and it’s hard to trust anything anymore.

It’s sad because I genuinely liked Icedrive when I first joined. But at this point, it feels like we’re all stuck hoping for a comeback while the ship quietly sinks.
