Seriously, what the hell is going on at Icedrive? Everything is falling apart piece by piece.
The mount app? Login doesn’t even work.
The portable app? Same story — can’t even log in.
And why? Because there’s zero maintenance or updates. It’s like the devs abandoned it.
At this rate, what’s next? The web login and site itself collapsing? Because that’s literally the only thing barely holding up right now — and even that is flaky when I try downloading files.
You guys sold “lifetime plans” and bragged about innovation, but right now it feels like a dead service limping on autopilot. How do you expect people to trust you with their data when the basic clients don’t even let us sign in?
Icedrive — either fix your damn products or just be upfront and admit you’ve given up.
I just received a response to feedback on Google Play when I changed it from 5 stars to 1 star. I was given the same canned response that Icedrive support has been giving everyone for months. To paraphrase: “We’re working on it. Just use our native apps.” I’d be happy to do that if the native apps worked.
I cant say its not working for me but fact is that the lack of activity in any way is alarming to say the least… icedrive used to go up both in popularity and subscribers up to probably 1-2 years ago as it was a refreshing look both in terms of the app, its approach, speed and security … and for me could place it foot next to some of the more established players of that time … that story seems long over and its being overrun by other newcomers … also latest developments seem to be far from bulletproof
It seems like Icedrive staff has “ghosted” their customers. When we get a very rare response from the staff it’s always the same scripted, useless response that they give to anyone asking a question.
This makes me think that it’s time to start looking for a new provider.
i suspect Tom is just a bot they left running and since they moved from Wales to Gibraltar they’ve taken up residency on the beach.
i’d suggest the time to look for an alternative was months ago. it’s a real shame, icedrive used to be good
filen seem the best to me. or if you just want webdav, koofr or a hetzner storage box are good
I don’t disagree that the service is good. But the lack of support makes us question whether or not to continue.
It feels like they’re never coming back and the service could go down at any moment.
