Extended "Early Access Special" Lifetime Subscription

Seems like the “Early Access Special” was extended to the 1st of March, originally scheduled for the 15th of January.

Do you guys plan to just keep extending this “limited” time-offer over and over again?

I understand wanting to bring in as many customers as possible, but setting an arbitrary date, and luring in customers with a seemingly urgent deadline, only to extend this in the last minute, kinda falls under bad practices in my book.

Before trying to convince my peers to jump on this deal, I’d like confirmation if this will be extended again, and if so, how many times we’ll see this happen.

Hi @Fox

The promotional offer will not be extended beyond this date. The mobile applications are still in development therefore we extended the early access to reflect this. We’re hopeful to have these apps released within the coming weeks.

Thank you for the confirmation. I guess we will have to see if it holds up.

You guys also said you would stop offering IceDrive lifetime plans from December 2023 onwards.
This new stance lasted for 2 months, before a Lifetime plan came back in March 2024, with a new concept of stacks, and after the Summer Deals, beginning in May 2024, we’ve had the same Lifetime Plans as before they were apparently discontinued.

I have a lot of Lifetime subscriptions, and some of the factors I use to decide whether a company is worth it, is the overall look and finish, as well as activity surrounding the project.
Nothing comes close to the brand identity you guys have build here at IcePrivacy. Every single product looks finished and polished. Your designers have made some of the most impressive artwork I’ve ever seen from a company.
You guys are also very active, both with social media presence, support channels, and development wise.

All of this points to IcePrivacy being a trustworthy company, and relocation to Gibraltar only solidifies this point.

But something is rotten with the way you guys run your promotions, and that takes away the trust you have earned in all the other departments.

From my point of view, it seems you have trouble deciding which way to take this project.
Do you guys want to forever be a “Lifetime Subscription” company, akin to competitor pCloud, or do you want to build a true subscription empire, sorta like what the Nord guys have been doing.

By standing on the edge of both paths, not being able to decide, you’re coming off as unprofessional, and when you make statements that you will be ending Lifetime deals, only to bring them back later on, you’re sowing doubt in your customers. Because if you’re willing to break promises regarding this part of the “Lifetime” deals, you might walk back on other aspects of the “Lifetime” deals too.
